~CHAPTER 13~
The practice match started with Kaijo scoring 2 points first.
“So, who are you supporting? I’m with Kaijo High!” Rai asked cheerfully.
“Of course I’m with Seirin High!” Ichigo replied.
“Sigh... I wonder how is it interesting to watch basketball matches,” Kii said, feeling bored.
“Is it just me, or am I seeing dunks more frequently here?” Oreki asked, puzzled.
Oreki was correct. It was Kise and Kagami doing all the dunks.
“Yosh!” Kagami said as he jumped down from doing a dunk. “No one can beat me in doing dunks!”
“Kagamicchi, you’re wrong!” Kise corrected as he dribbled the ball to the opposite hoop and dunked it in fabulously.
It was finally time for the first interval and both teams went to rest.
“Oi, Kagami! Pass the ball to me so that I can do 3-pointers!” Hyuuga shouted. “And stop doing dunks more often! Are you in a bet with Kise or what?!!”
“Warui, warui! But I challenged Kise on doing dunks--”
“Who asked you to challenge Kise, you BAKAGAMI?!!” Riko scolded, hitting Kagami on the back of his head with thick pieces of paper rolled up.
“Ow, that hurts!” Kagami shouted back, caressing his back of the head.
“Anyway, for now, just don’t dunk too much,” Riko concluded. “If you really want to do it, do it AFTER this, get it?”
“Fine, I get it...”
“Damn it, watching this makes me feel like playing basketball right now,” Rai said, frustrated.
“Me too..” Ichigo said.
“I actually feel like leaving right now,” Oreki tried to reach for the exit.
“No, you’re staying with me!” Kii insisted, pulling Oreki close to here..
“This won’t actually eat up the whole of our practice time, but I can’t take this anymore,” Satoshi said. “Well, at least the match is kind of exciting...”
The match resumed with Kaijo in the lead, and the ball was passed to Kuroko.
“Ignite Pass.... Kai!” Kuroko did an Ignite Pass Kai, and it passed right through Kise. Kagami caught the ball and dunked it in, and Seirin got 2 points.
(Note: Timeskip to the fourth quarter of the match..)The match, currently at the last 1 minute of the fourth quarter, was a tie. 108-108.
Kagami got the ball, and Kasamatsu was trying to block him. He passed to Izuki, and Kise tried to block the pass. But Kuroko changed the direction of the ball to Kiyoshi, who was near the hoop, and he dunked it in at the second a beep sounded.
“A buzzer beater!” Rai noticed.
The match ended with Seirin winning by 2 points. 110-108.
“Yeah!! Seirin ganbatte!” Ichigo cheered happily.
As both teams went back to their benches to rest, Kise went over to Seirin’s bench.
“Kurokocchi, Kagamicchi, let’s play basketball sometime again,” Kise said, smiling in satisfaction.
“Hai, Kise-kun,” Kuroko replied.
“Don’t forget me too, teme!” Kagami replied, giving a satisfied smirk, and putting his hands on Kuroko’s hair.
All’s well that ends well. The practice match had finally ended and the LMC went back to the OAGS.
“I felt like I just wasted the past hour...” Kii said, resting her head on the table.
Knock, knock. There was a knock on the door, and it opened.
“Inori-sensei?!” Oreki said, surprised.
“Konnichiwa minna-san,” Inori-sensei greeted. She carried an old guitar case. “Do you guys mind if you take this old guitar to an appraiser? I don’t know if this will cost much, but I suppose you’ll need it for future instrument upgrades. It’s my father’s friend’s guitar.”
“E-Eh?” Kii was surprised, too. “Bring this to an appraiser?”
“I know of one! It’s right across the road,” Ichigo suggested.
“Shall we go there after school?” Satoshi asked.
“If we get lots of money, we can get lots of stuff!” Rai said, brimming with excitement.
“It might not be worth lots of money though,” Inori-sensei said with a skeptical look upon hearing Rai’s words. “I’m going now,” Inori-sensei left the room.
After school, the LMC decided to go to the appraiser.
“Ano, how much is this?” Kii asked, putting the old guitar case on the clear glass counter and opening it.
The appraiser(male) opened the case and started inspecting it.
“Let’s see.... “ He seemed to be doing maths calculations in his head.
“This is worth 500,000 yen.”
“EHHH---?!!”

Kuroko: Ignite Pass... Kai! *does Ignite Pass Kai*
Kise: *ball hits Kise* K-Kurokocchi! *faints*
Kuroko: G-gomen nasai.. Kise-kun...
Kagami: Oi, Kuroko, the Ignite Pass Kai has even more force than Ignite Pass! Did Kise just die or what?!
Kuroko: Kise is probably strong enough to receive Ignite Pass. I think he can survive an Ignite Pass Kai.... at least that’s what I think.
Everyone: *facepalm*
