~CHAPTER 3~

Timeline: 1 minute before school dismissal, on Valentines Day~ (A/N: I know I’m like 1 week late.. oh well, just enjoy this! ^o^ And forget about the timing problem.. :p)

“3... 2... 1....” Both Ichigo and Rai counted down for the school bell to ring.

Riinggg! The school bell rang shrilly.

“YATTA!!” They yelled in happiness, taking their bags and scooting off to the entrance of OAGS. Kii, Oreki and Satoshi just watched in shock. These lovebirds...

“Ja nee~! Ganbatte!” Rai cheered, holding an ornately-decorated paper bag. Then she ran off, skipping happily.

“Yeah, ganbatte kudasai~!” Ichigo cheered, waving to her back. She was carrying a clear plastic bag with a shiny pink(she loves pink) string tied on top to secure the contents inside.

Ichigo’s POV

I’m so glad Seirin High is near OAGS... that saves time. I strolled towards Kuroko-senpai’s school, humming Guren no Yumiya. But yet at the same time I was super nervous -- what was I supposed to say to him..? I could feel something running down my spine.

Oblivious to the passing of time, I stepped onto a familiar ground - Seirin High School. I then took a deep breath, but my legs felt like they were chained to the ground or something, and they were shivering. I finally steeled myself towards Seirin High’s indoor basketball court.

I opened the door and took a glance. “.... Kuroko-senpai isn’t here today..?”

“Were you calling me?” A familiar voice called out, startling me. I jumped. Dang, haven’t felt this in a while.

“Kuroko-senpai..! Stop scaring me!” I pouted, a little annoyed. But at the same time I was happy, because he was here... and due to that I could feel my pulse getting higher and my breathing getting deeper. I was clutching worriedly on the packet of chocolates.

“What are you guys doing here?” a tall man with red and black hair interrupted us, opening the door, and I realised it was Kagami-senpai. I could distress a little here.

“Uh.. we’re just...uh......” I stammered, at a loss for words. I wrecked my brain internally.

“Ichigo-san came to visit us,” Kuroko-senpai continued my sentence, sensing that I didn’t know what to say. “Isn’t it the end of basketball practice already? Let’s pack up and go.”

“Now that you mention it..” Kagami-senpai looked at the clock, and it was indeed dismissal time. “I’ll tell everyone to pack up.”

(A/N: Timeskip, everyone has packed up and left except for both Ichigo and Kuroko~)

Kuroko-senpai gestured me to follow him. I nodded subconsciously, thinking what he would do to me. I was even thinking of.. okay, let’s not go into that detail.

Soon, we reached the back alley. It was relatively clean. Wait. Why am I describing the back alley?

Then I remembered the chocolates I was supposed to give him! Oh shit... I hastily took out the chocolates and put it in front of him, but my reckless action caused my face to turn red instantly. “U-Uh... These are my.. handmade.. chocolates......” And then no words came out of my mouth, no matter how hard I tried to speak.

Kuroko blinked and took the chocolates, and he seemed to get what I was saying “Hai, arigatou, Ichigo-san.”

I gasped with my mouth agape. I could feel my happiness skyrocketing...

“YEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!” I shouted happily, punching the air and jumping up, because I couldn’t hold it in anymore.

Kuroko-senpai smiled. “Let’s walk home today, Ichigo-san.”

“HAI!! Race you to the entrance,” I said cheekily as I got into a 5-second headstart.

“That’s not fair, Ichigo-san!”

End of Ichigo’s POV

Rai’s POV

I stepped into the train, then I took a seat. My destination was Kanegawa - Kaijo High! Ahh... I can’t wait to meet Baki again... I hope he will love my chocolates! My vivid imagination is getting... wild.

10 minutes later, I stared out of the window to know where I was.

Then it hit me.

In a split second, I bolted out of my seat and onto the train platform of Kanegawa Station. I could feel my hair brushing against the train doors which were about to close. Phew. Luckily, I didn’t miss the station....

I started strolling towards Kaijo High, continuing my vivid imagination. I was smiling gleefully to myself.

When I reached there, I instantly spotted Baki opening his locker.

What awaited him was a heavy rain of fanmails and chocolates falling onto him. He lost his balance and landed on the floor with a thud. “Gaaah!!! Why are there so many fanmails and chocolates?!”

“PFFFF--HAHAAHAAA!!!!” I laughed my head off loudly, until maybe Ichigo-chan could hear it from Seirin High. No, I wasn’t exaggerating. Maybe I’ll text her later to see if she heard me....

As if the “rain” weren’t bad enough, Baki cried, ”Ah!! Raicchi!! Stop laughing!”

“Okay, I’ll try to-- PFFHAHAHAHAAHAHA!!”

“Stop it already!!”

I walked towards him, still trying to hide my hardest laugh ever. I think I almost died there. “Hai, hai... what are you going to do about these?” I pointed to the “raindrops” on the floor.

“Shira ne... this happens to me every year... and I end up getting more sugar than I intended to,” Baki got up and scratched his head.

‘And I end up getting more sugar than I intended to’ Hah, that totally describes Ichigo-chan....

After some consideration, I decided to help Baki carry the fanmails back to his house while he carries the chocolates, because the fanmails were a lot more lighter than the chocolates.

“Ne, what are you going to do with all these chocolates?” I asked, feeling curious.

“Hmm... maybe share them all to the rest of the Kaijo team and the Kiseki no Sedai?” Baki chuckled.

“That’s mean~!” I pouted. “If they were all for you, why would you share them?”

“Just joking,” he winked. “They can last me for a few months if I ration them...”

“Hmm... so do you think there’s an advantage of this?”

“I get to eat high class chocolates, maybe? But you know, I haven’t received a single homemade chocolate.... yet.”

His words made me blush a little. Was I going to be the first one giving him homemade chocolates? But then... why hasn’t he received a single homemade chocolate yet? Are his fangirls trying to compete with each other trying to see who can make the most delicious chocolate? It make sense in some kind of way I guess.....

We chatted and chatted until we reached Baki’s house. Although I felt a little disappointed because it felt really short. Wait, was I forgetting something? I glanced at the bag of chocolates, and then I realised I haven’t gave my OWN chocolates to him....

“A-Ano, I just realised this, but I haven’t gave you mine, so here’s..!” With my hands trembling like mad, I put the chocolates in front of Baki, wanting him to take it. My pulse increased and my breathing grew heavier with each passing second. My brain almost went haywire.

He looked a bit shocked, and there was an awkward silence. Okay, shit.... This wasn’t what I expected...

Baki giggled a little. “Well, arigatou, Raicchi,” he gave his most happiest smile ever, taking the chocolates.

My happiness and fangirl meter skyrocketed almost immediately. “G-Gomen nasai!!” I hastily ran away, with my face flushed red with embarrassment. I ran until to the train station, hurriedly gasping for air. Now I know how hard it is to give chocolates to the person you love..

“Your chocolates are the best one I’ve ever tasted,” he whispered silently into the air as he tossed one chocolate inside his mouth. “Arigatou...”

The Tigers That Fell in Love [Toradoki!] - Chapter 3

~CHAPTER 3~

Taiga walked to the entrance of the indoor sports hall. She cautiously slid open the door. The sliding of the door caught the team’s members’ attention. Everyone turned their heads to her.

“Ehhh--- so short..”

“Is she really a high schooler?”

“Wait, she’s wearing Seirin’s uniform?”

Mutters could be heard. They were expecting Taiga to come, but they couldn’t believe what they were seeing.

“Hey, stop those useless mutters,” Kagami said as he walked up to her. “She’s Mizuki Taiga. The one you’re all waiting for.”

“....” There was an awkward silence.

“EHHHHHHHH----?!!” Everyone else screamed in shock except for Kuroko.

“You didn’t make a mistake, DID YOU?!!” Hyuuga shook Kagami’s shoulders hard.

“She can’t be that short!!” Koganei commented.

Mitobe gave a surprised look.

“You can't trust a tiger. You never know when she might be lion,” Izuki made a lame pun, writing on his notepad. This fueled Taiga’s anger.

“IZUKI! Don’t give our guests a bad impression!” Hyuuga hit Izuki’s head.

“URUSAAAAIII!” Taiga, with menacing eyes, swung her right leg towards Izuki’s hips, making him fall onto the wooden floor.

“AHH!! THE FIRST TIME IZUKI GOT PUNISHED FOR HIS PUNS!” Everyone shouted in unison. Izuki got up, caressing his injured body part.

“AREN’T YOU ALL MAKING A PUN RIGHT NOW?!!” Riko shouted from behind. She saw Mizuki, with Izuki slowly getting up. “Izuki, what happened?!”

“She kicked me...” Izuki sweatdropped. “Because of my pun...”

“You deserve it,” Riko said, biting her teeth and clenching her hard fist, with an aura of fire surrounding her. “By the way, is that.. Mizuki... Taiga?” She looked at Taiga.

“Sou dayo,” Taiga confirmed. “But everyone here’s weird.”

“But I think she’s kind of violent,” Kuroko commented.

“It’s her first day here, so..” Kagami said.

Riko understood what she meant. “Okay then, let’s introduce ourselves...”

They finished their introductions, with Taiga giving nicknames in her mind.

“Well then, time for my introduction,” Taiga folded her arms. “My name’s Mizuki Taiga, as you all know. Now, take off your shirts.” She instructed.

“Ehh?!” Riko was shocked.

De-Deja vu?!! Everyone thought.

“Just hurry up and do it!” Taiga shouted, pointing at them. Beads of cold perspiration dropped down from their forehead. They gulped a little. Meanwhile, Riko felt a little curious as what Taiga could do.

“H-hai...” they agreed, taking off their shirts.

Taiga’s POV

Numbers filled my vision. Stamina, Speed, Attack, Strength, Defense, Accuracy.... Yep, my numbers are based on MMORPGs.

I pointed to four-eyes. “Your accuracy is quite good..” He looked shocked. “Eh, well, I always shoot 3-pointers...”

“3-pointers? What’s that..?” I asked, feeling confused.

“Ah, for that, we’ll explain to you later,” Riko said.

I went off to comment on each of the member’s abilties, shocking them. Now it was Bakagami and Kuroko’s turn.

Checking Bakagami’s stats, my eyes were lighting up. He’s special.... In fact, his stats are glowing brightly! I figured he’d make a good partner. “Eh...” I moved on Kuroko.

I gasped with my mouth agape. How is he... “Your stats are too low! How are you in the Generation of Miracles(GOM)?!”

“Generation of... Miracles?” Everyone was in shock. Shit, I carelessly mentioned the GOM!

“How did you know them?” Kuroko asked. “We’ve never mentioned anything about it to you before.”

“Argh--- Urusai!” I scolded out of recklessness. “I-I’ve read about them somewhere on a magazine before...”

Everyone looked rather skeptical.

“Uhm.... Let’s explain how I can help you guys during games now..” I sweatdropped, looking away. “Do you see the strand of hair shaped like a heart on my head?”

“Yeah, but it looks weird,” Kagami commented. I raised my eyebrows and tried to suppressed the anger. I could’ve killed him by now if looks could kill.

“Anyway, did you know that there’s an invisible battlefield just right next to the basketball court? Like, a virtual gaming world?”

Everyone was baffled. Invisible? What kind of sorcery is this?

“I don’t know how it works, but it’s like science fiction.....Hi-tech stuff. The heart-shaped strand of hair... well, I don’t know either. This virtual world can be triggered anywhere. Once it’s triggered, I’ll be able to enter the world. Only those who can access the invisible battlefield will be able to come into contact with me inside. We use weapons inside.. like in those MMORPGs. I excel in using a sword or katana, so of course I’m good in short-ranged battles, but kind of bad at long-ranged battles My In-game Name(IGN) is Shana.”

They were pretty shocked. Well, that’s of course.. this technology hasn’t been released to the public yet. It’s a lot like... virtual gaming.

“So do other schools have people like you?” Izuki asked.

“Nope,” I answered. “But I still have to train my skills, because there’s 1 person I have to defeat in this upcoming Inter High.”

End of Taiga’s POV

  The other members asked Taiga some questions and she answered them all. Then, they decided to resume their practice.

Riko walked up to Taiga and put her hands on Taiga’s shoulder. “Ne, I just wanna ask you, how do you calculate these stats?”

“Hmm, I organise them in a game-like manner,” Taiga answered. “Like those MMORPGs.... Stamina, Speed, Attack, Strength, Defense, Accuracy. You could say I like playing these type of games.”

“I see, so you have experience,” Riko nodded her head. “Well, I have experience too! But I don’t organise it like that.”

“Mm...”

Riko and Taiga both exchanged information as they watched the boys train.

“Right, you said you had to defeat 1 person on the upcoming Inter High, so... who’s that?” Riko asked.

“...” Taiga hesitated for a while. “It’s a secret.”

“Well.. it’s okay if you don’t tell me... but why must it be basketball?” Riko inquired even more further.

“Because it’s the only way I can find that person,” Taiga answered honestly, although she felt a little irritated.

Then Riko went on to explain further about basketball to Taiga. I know how it works, but I don’t seem to have a knack for it....

The Tigers That Fell in Love - Chapter 2

~CHAPTER 2~

(A/N: The timeline has already passed the first practice match with Kaijo High ^o^)

“Kagami, I think you’ll go with Kuroko,” Riko said. She, Izuki and Hyuuga were in Kagami and Kuroko’s classroom, 15 minutes before class starts.

“Why is it only me with Kuroko?!” Kagami said.

“The second-years have important things to do during lunchtime,” Izuki explained. “Besides, you’ve seen Mizuki before, so we should be fine as long we have Kagami. Actually, I don’t even think we need Kuroko at all...”

“Eh..?” Kuroko felt a little disappointed. “I can help out, you know.”

“Kagami, listen to your senpais once in a while, or I’ll kill you,” Hyuuga threatened, smiling evilly.

“A-ah, hai..” Kagami sweatdropped, feeling a little intimidated by his senpai. “I’ll go with Kuroko...”

Lunchtime finally arrived, and after both of them finished their lunch, they went to look for Mizuki Taiga. Kagami shoved open the door to the classroom beside his, and his eyes scanned the whole classroom, looking for her. Suddenly, he spotted a bright, red flowing hair that shone like fire, and the strand of hair shaped like a heart on the top of her head, with a mysterious. She was alone. Both Kagami and Kuroko walked up to her.

“Ano.... sumimasen..” Kuroko tried to start a conversation.

She turned around, with her hair swirling behind her. Her red, fiery eyes stared innocently into Kagami’s and Kuroko’s eyes.

“Nani..?” She asked. “Oh.. that idiot yesterday...”

“Stop calling me an idiot!!!” Kagami shouted, facepalming hard.

“Your name is Mizuki Taiga, right?” Kuroko asked for her confirmation.

“Sou da yo.... you can just call me Mizuki.”

“Ahem, do you play basketball?” Kagami cleared his throat. He felt a little stupid asking this.

“Eh... not basketball, but kendo.”

“K-Kendo...?” Both Kagami and Kuroko were shocked. Maybe she can’t help us after all.....

“But I have the ability to train skills, you know. Like your coach,” Taiga said, breaking their disappointment.

“Souka!! Then come join our basketball club!” Kagami asked enthusiastically, smiling.

“Ah, but first,” Taiga stopped a little. “We have to form a contract.”

“Eh?!” Kuroko was shocked. “What... kind?” He was thinking of.. well...

“Gomen, I was just joking,” Taiga joked, but her face remained the same. Like Kuroko.

Kuroko thought that Taiga reminded him of Akashi. But he decided to brush it off.

“But.. you really trust me?” Taiga asked out of the blue, folding her arms. “You’ve only met me and now you’re inviting me to your basketball club?”

“Eh... I don’t think I can answer this question....” Kagami looked away.

“...”

“But why didn’t you join the kendo club?” Kuroko asked out of curiosity.

“Um, well... let’s just say I decided to learn more about basketball,” Taiga answered, feeling a little uncomfortable.

“Souka...”

“One more question... are you short?” Kagami asked without thinking.

“Eh.....?” Taiga’s face darkened, with a dark aura surrounding her. She cringed a little and bit her lips. With a roaring voice, she shouted loudly, “DIEEEEEEEE!!!” In a quick and powerful motion, she swung her right leg hard right towards Kagami’s balls, and it hit the bull’s eye.

“WHA-WHA-WHAT THE HELL?!!” Kagami let out a deafening yell as he felt a really sharp pain in his balls. He jumped up and down with a pained look on his face. “HOW DO YOU HAVE SO MUCH STRENGTH?!!” Again, the classmates were looking at what was happening(and enjoying the show), and he felt his face flushing with anger and embarrassment.

“I’m not called the Palmtop Tiger for nothing, you know!!! And don’t mention about my height anymore!!! It’s a disgrace!” She gave a smirk as she successfully gave Kagami a fix. Kuroko stood there with his legs pinned to the ground. Although he seemed indifferent, he was pretty shocked inside. Taiga returned to her seat, which was near the window, and sat cross-legged, enjoying the view from her window.

“DAMN YOU MIZUKI!” Kagami yelled, showing his cold, hard fists.

“Kagami-kun, you lack delicacy again,” Kuroko warned, wagging his fingers.

“I KNOW!! BUT!!” Kagami yelled. He looked at the people around him. “ARGH!! FINE!!”

In the end, Kuroko had to drag Kagami out of the classroom.
