Love, Music and Otaku - Chapter 12

~CHAPTER 12~

“Baki’s imouto!!! We’re finally here!!” Rai shouted as she ran to the LMC’s booth, dragging Ichigo behind her.

“U-uh, konnichiwa!” Ichigo greeted, stopping down and bowing.

“We’re here to join the LMC!!!” Rai said.

“But--” Ichigo protested, trying to say something.

“No buts, we’re joining!” Rai cut her off.

“Eh... so I guess we have enough members,” Oreki said.

“We have two spots open for the keyboard and the rhythm guitar, who’s taking which?” Satoshi asked.

“I’ll take the rhythm guitar spot!” Rai immediately decided without thinking.

“I’ll take the keyboard...” Ichigo said, hesitating a little.

The next day was the start of the club activities. The LMC met in the music room.

“Minna! We’re here!” a voice called out.

“Eh..?” Kii said, surprised. “I’m pretty sure I’ve heard the voice somewhere...” The 3 of them turned their heads to the direction of the vo

“Shall we start the introduction now?” Kii said.

“Watashi wa Shinya Rai desu, yoroshiku onegai shimasu!” Rai introduced in a cheerful tone.

“Watashi wa Shizuko Ichigo desu, yoroshiku...” Ichigo introduced.

“We’re doing the introduction for the second time already, so I guess we could skip this..” Oreki said.

Suddenly, Kii received a text message.

“Ichigo, Rai, we’re going to Kaijo High right now,” Kii said, closing her phone and putting it into her bag. “And Kazuto-kun, Satoshi-kun, you’re coming with me too.”

“Wait, what?!” Rai said, surprised. Kaijo High?! But I’m pretty sure that’s where Baki at....

“Kaijo High and Seirin High are having a practice match,” Kii explained.

“S-Seirin High?!! That means...” Ichigo said, thinking. Kuroko-senpai is there too?!! “I’m coming!!!”

“But why are we coming too?” Satoshi asked.

“What are you going to do when 3 of us are out? Playing? We don’t have enough members to practice when 3 of us are out, so you two might as well come,” Kii said, giving the you-must-come-or-I’ll-kill-you look.
“U-uh.. hai..” Oreki sweatdropped.

“Let’s go,” Kii said.

Meanwhile... (Note: Right now, Kuroko and Kagami and others are third years already, and Kagami replaced Hyuuga as the captain. Riko, Kiyoshi, Hyuuga and others have already graduated, but they will still be in here. Read on to find out why....)

“K-Kuroko!! I think I just saw Coach skipping towards the indoor basketball hall with Kiyoshi-senpai and Hyuuga-senpai behind!!” Kagami shouted as he burst the door open of the indoor basketball hall of Seirin and ran inside. Furihata and others were shocked.

“Kagami-kun?” Kuroko said. “But they have already graduated, maybe you’re seeing things--”

“My eyes are damn reliable!”

“Osu, minna!” the door suddenly opened. It was Riko with Hyuuga, Kiyoshi, Mitobe, Izuki and Koganei.

“C-Coach!!”

“Coach, what are you doing here? I thought you guys already graduated?” Kagami asked, puzzled.

“Not so fast, Bakagami!” Riko said. “We’re going to have our last practice match with Kaijo High with the senpais. I’ve heard that the new members will come tomorrow, so today’s our only chance!”

“We missed playing with you guys, although I can’t play with you now due to my injury,” Kiyoshi said with a smile. “So we just thought we could end it like in the beginning - your first practice match was with Kaijo High, am I right?”

“Kiyoshi, don’t mislead our kouhais, it’s not like we missed them or anything,” Hyuuga scolded.

Mitobe simply smiled.

“Mitobe wants to say that it’s been a long time since we played together!” Koganei translated. It was like it was always him translating Mitobe’s emotions.

“Why did the fish miss the call?” Izuki asked suddenly.

Everyone stayed silent, because they knew Izuki was going to give another pun again. “I don’t know, Izuki-senpai,” Kuroko finally answered.

“Because he was stuck on the other line!!” Izuki laughed his head off. “We missed you!”

“Die,” Hyuuga said seriously, giving Izuki the I-will-kill-you look.

“Shut up, I’m hilarious!”

“Anyway, we’re setting off to Kaijo High now, pack up your things and let’s go!” Riko said enthusiastically.

20 minutes later, everyone met up at Kaijo High’s indoor basketball hall. Seirin, with the LMC, entered.

“Minna!! Irasshai masen~!” Kise greeted happily. Rai saw Kise’s happy face and blushed happily. “Baki!! Osashiburi desu~!”

“Da-ka-ra.... don’t call me that!” Kise pouted.

“Ii-e!” Rai refused the cute way.

“A-ano... Kuroko-senpai..” Ichigo said. “Osashiburi desu yo ne...”

“Hai,” Kuroko said, giving Ichigo the ‘cute’ innocent eyes. Ichigo blushed too. She could feel her heartbeats beating.

“Kise, I can’t wait to challenge you again,” Kagami said, fired up.

“Kagamicchi, challenge accepted. Bring it on,” Kise replied with a smirk

“I don’t want to ruin the moment, but old photographers never die, they just have flash backs. Haha, I just needed a pun right now!” Izuki interrupted.

Everyone in Seirin gave a death glare(except for Kuroko, of course) to Izuki.

But Ichigo burst out laughing. “Oh my god... I can’t.. take it... It’s.. IT’S SO FUNNY!!! OH MY GOD!!” She was rolling on the floor, laughing so hard no one could stop her.

“I see, Ichigo-san likes puns,” Kuroko noted.

“G-Gomen.. Kuroko-senpai... I just love laughing..” Ichigo tried to stop lauging.

Seirin and Kaijo prepared at the benches first. Kise’s senpais, Kasamatsu and others were also there to play one last time with their kouhais.

“Baki!! Ganbatte!!” Rai cheered.

“K-Kuroko-senpai, ganbatte k-kudasai!” Ichigo cheered.

“The practice match between Kaijo High and Seirin High shall begin now! Bow!”

“Yoroshiku onegai shimasu!”

The whistle was blown and the ball was thrown into the air by the referee. Kise and Kagami jumped high to see who could get the ball first.
