The Tigers That Fell in Love - Chapter 2

~CHAPTER 2~

(A/N: The timeline has already passed the first practice match with Kaijo High ^o^)

“Kagami, I think you’ll go with Kuroko,” Riko said. She, Izuki and Hyuuga were in Kagami and Kuroko’s classroom, 15 minutes before class starts.

“Why is it only me with Kuroko?!” Kagami said.

“The second-years have important things to do during lunchtime,” Izuki explained. “Besides, you’ve seen Mizuki before, so we should be fine as long we have Kagami. Actually, I don’t even think we need Kuroko at all...”

“Eh..?” Kuroko felt a little disappointed. “I can help out, you know.”

“Kagami, listen to your senpais once in a while, or I’ll kill you,” Hyuuga threatened, smiling evilly.

“A-ah, hai..” Kagami sweatdropped, feeling a little intimidated by his senpai. “I’ll go with Kuroko...”

Lunchtime finally arrived, and after both of them finished their lunch, they went to look for Mizuki Taiga. Kagami shoved open the door to the classroom beside his, and his eyes scanned the whole classroom, looking for her. Suddenly, he spotted a bright, red flowing hair that shone like fire, and the strand of hair shaped like a heart on the top of her head, with a mysterious. She was alone. Both Kagami and Kuroko walked up to her.

“Ano.... sumimasen..” Kuroko tried to start a conversation.

She turned around, with her hair swirling behind her. Her red, fiery eyes stared innocently into Kagami’s and Kuroko’s eyes.

“Nani..?” She asked. “Oh.. that idiot yesterday...”

“Stop calling me an idiot!!!” Kagami shouted, facepalming hard.

“Your name is Mizuki Taiga, right?” Kuroko asked for her confirmation.

“Sou da yo.... you can just call me Mizuki.”

“Ahem, do you play basketball?” Kagami cleared his throat. He felt a little stupid asking this.

“Eh... not basketball, but kendo.”

“K-Kendo...?” Both Kagami and Kuroko were shocked. Maybe she can’t help us after all.....

“But I have the ability to train skills, you know. Like your coach,” Taiga said, breaking their disappointment.

“Souka!! Then come join our basketball club!” Kagami asked enthusiastically, smiling.

“Ah, but first,” Taiga stopped a little. “We have to form a contract.”

“Eh?!” Kuroko was shocked. “What... kind?” He was thinking of.. well...

“Gomen, I was just joking,” Taiga joked, but her face remained the same. Like Kuroko.

Kuroko thought that Taiga reminded him of Akashi. But he decided to brush it off.

“But.. you really trust me?” Taiga asked out of the blue, folding her arms. “You’ve only met me and now you’re inviting me to your basketball club?”

“Eh... I don’t think I can answer this question....” Kagami looked away.

“...”

“But why didn’t you join the kendo club?” Kuroko asked out of curiosity.

“Um, well... let’s just say I decided to learn more about basketball,” Taiga answered, feeling a little uncomfortable.

“Souka...”

“One more question... are you short?” Kagami asked without thinking.

“Eh.....?” Taiga’s face darkened, with a dark aura surrounding her. She cringed a little and bit her lips. With a roaring voice, she shouted loudly, “DIEEEEEEEE!!!” In a quick and powerful motion, she swung her right leg hard right towards Kagami’s balls, and it hit the bull’s eye.

“WHA-WHA-WHAT THE HELL?!!” Kagami let out a deafening yell as he felt a really sharp pain in his balls. He jumped up and down with a pained look on his face. “HOW DO YOU HAVE SO MUCH STRENGTH?!!” Again, the classmates were looking at what was happening(and enjoying the show), and he felt his face flushing with anger and embarrassment.

“I’m not called the Palmtop Tiger for nothing, you know!!! And don’t mention about my height anymore!!! It’s a disgrace!” She gave a smirk as she successfully gave Kagami a fix. Kuroko stood there with his legs pinned to the ground. Although he seemed indifferent, he was pretty shocked inside. Taiga returned to her seat, which was near the window, and sat cross-legged, enjoying the view from her window.

“DAMN YOU MIZUKI!” Kagami yelled, showing his cold, hard fists.

“Kagami-kun, you lack delicacy again,” Kuroko warned, wagging his fingers.

“I KNOW!! BUT!!” Kagami yelled. He looked at the people around him. “ARGH!! FINE!!”

In the end, Kuroko had to drag Kagami out of the classroom.

The Tigers That Fell in Love - Chapter 1

~CHAPTER 1~

“Oi, Kuroko, are you excited for the Inter High?” Kagami asked, strolling in the corridors with Kuroko during lunch time. Kagami Taiga, the ace of Seirin High. It was 2 weeks after they had joined the Seirin High Basketball Team, and they were training for the Inter High.

“Yes, I am,” Kuroko replied, in his usual nonchalant voice. Kuroko Tetsuya, the phantom sixth man of the Generation of Miracles(GOM), joined Seirin High, and now his current light is Kagami. “I can’t wait to see all of my ex-teammates again.”

“I’m getting fired up too! I can’t wait to battle the GOM,” Kagami said enthusiastically. But he sensed no reply from Kuroko. He turned to his side, only to find Kuroko missing AGAIN. “DAMN YOU KUROKO!! Why can’t you appear and leave normally?!!” Kagami did an epic facepalm. He decided to continue walking without him.

Just as Kagami was about to enjoy the cool breeze that blew in, he bumped into something.. short. Was it a pile of boxes? No, it feels like a human... but it’s so short? He looked down, only to find a red-head. Like him. Except the hair at the top was shaped like a.. heart? Weird hair. He tried to respond, but what awaited him was a hard fist. Right in the face.

“Ahh!! The Palmtop Tiger strikes again!!” voices could be heard in the background while Kagami lost his balance and fell with a thud. He propped himself up and stood up. This was the most annoying thing that happened to him.

“Oi!!! What was that for?!” Kagami yelled, caressing his head. But he only spotted a short girl with long, beautiful crimson red hair, with a little shade of black near the end of the strands, walking away, with her back facing him. Strangely, there was that strand of hair shaped like a heart on top of her again. Maybe it’s her real hair... but seriously?

“That annoying guy...” she muttered under her breath as she walked away.

Kagami was a little stunned by that girl. But her height though.... It didn’t look like she was a first year in high school... more of an elementary schooler. 145cm? Pffttt. He laughed a little. (Note: Pfffftt = laughing sound)

During class, Kagami spaced out, thinking of that mysterious girl. Then he remembered some voices. Flashback: “Ahh!! The Palmtop Tiger strikes again!” Wait... a tiger? Does that mean she has a similar name as me..?

“Kagami..!! Kagami!!” the teacher shouted, trying to get his attention after noticing that he was daydreaming in class, or at least it seems so. He finally turned his head towards the teacher.

“Kagami, read the paragraph that I was talking about just now,” the teacher said sternly.

“Eh? Ah.. hai...” He stood up and took a glance at his textbook. Shit, I didn’t pay attention! I don’t even know which paragraph is it!! I’m just gonna choose a random paragraph. His eyes went for the last paragraph in the page. “[insert paragraph here]....” He crossed his fingers inside his mind, hoping it was the correct one.

But it wasn’t.

“Kagami, I haven’t reach there yet,” the teacher said, fixing his glasses and staring daggers at him. Kagami gulped a little. “Stay back for 1 hour after school. Sit down.”

“H-hai..” Kagami said, sitting down with his legs trembling a little. Yeah, he was the big tiger, but he couldn’t help being intimidated by his teacher’s fierce eyes.

Kuroko looked at him in disbelief. Kagami-kun is acting weird today...

Kagami’s attention was diverted to the girl again, and Kuroko sensed that something was on his mind.

Later that day, Kagami missed half his basketball practice due to the mistake he made during class. When he entered the indoor sports hall, Aida Riko, their coach, was fuming with anger.

“BAKAGAMI!! WHY DID YOU MISS HALF OF THE PRACTICE?!!” Riko yelled, hitting Kagami with a piece of paper that she rolled up.

“Can’t be helped!! I got scolded by my teacher today,” Kagami explained, feeling a little remorse. But he was also a little angry. “Coach, why did you hit me?!”

“You deserve it!” Riko yelled. “Now go run 20 rounds around the hall! RIGHT NOW!”

“EHH?!!” Kagami yelled in shock. But he couldn’t do anything anyway. Riko was a coach from hell. He started running.

At the end of the basketball practice, while everyone was packing up and ready to go home, Kuroko walked up to Riko. “Coach, do you think Kagami-kun is a little weird today? Like he’s not focusing like he used to..”

“That’s true, I saw it... He wasn’t attentive... was he thinking about something?” Riko was puzzled.

“.....” Kuroko stayed silent.

“Kagami, you weren’t focusing today!” Hyuuga scolded. Hyuuga Junpei, the captain of Seirin High.

“Sorry captain, I was thinking of someone,” Kagami briefly explained.

“Eh..? Who is it?” Izuki asked, smiling mischieviously. Izuki Shun, the Eagle Eye of Seirin High. “A girlfriend?”

“SHUT UP IZUKI-SENPAI!!” Kagami yelled. “It’s just a random girl. I don’t even know her name... She punched me right in the face today during lunch and I fell to the ground. I didn’t get a chance to ask...” Everyone heard him.

P-Punched Kagami in the face and he fell down?!! What kind of girl is that?!! The other members thought. Except that Kuroko remained calm.

“Ah! If you mean her..” Koganei remembered something. Koganei Shinji, the Jack of All Trades. “It’s another ‘taiga’.”

“‘Taiga’..?” Kuroko was puzzled. Another tiger?

Mitobe looked at Koganei. Mitobe Rinnosuke, the hardworking and unsung hero, whose voice no one has ever heard. “Hai, hai, Mitobe... Her name is Mizuki Taiga,” Koganei translated Mitobe’s words.

“Mizuki... Taiga?”

“Eh... sounds kind of interesting..” Riko added. “It’s decided then! We’ll go to her classroom during tomorrow to find out what kind of girl she is!”

“EHHHH?!!” Everyone screamed, except for Kuroko.

“But maybe she’ll be able to help us,” Izuki commented.

“I think I kind of agree,” Kuroko said.

Everyone went home after that, and as usual, Kagami and Kuroko were walking home together.

“Kagami-kun... do you think Mizuki-san will be able to help us win the Inter High?” Kuroko asked suddenly.

“Depends on her abilities,” Kagami gave a shrug. “We still don’t know that yet.”

“I see..” Kuroko said, thinking.

And also, the titans are stronger than ever, rendering the current technology weak.

16-year-old Eren Jaeger swears to kill all the titans after witnessing his mother being eaten by them. The only way to stop all of these is to track down the scientists who made the strange substance. But all his plans are delayed when he moved to the Recon Corps Dormitory, the dorms for problem children at his school and he was asked to take care of 2 mysterious girls - Mikasa Ackerman and Annie Leonhardt - together with his best friend, Armin Arlert.
Timeline: Year 2100... in the future.
