A/N: Yay! AoKuroKaga fans unite! ^w^ This time I'm writing a KNB oneshot AU fanfic, with no crossovers whatsoever. (First time I'm writing a non-crossover fanfic xD) There's also a little of KiKuro.

Description:

21-years-old Kagami and Aomine has to take care of 7-years-old Kuroko. Kagami is the "mother" and Aomine is the "father". Aomine's a policeman while Kagami is Not in Education, Employment or Training(NEET). Not to blame him though, for some reason he's not able to get a job. Meanwhile, another 7-year-old kid, Kise Ryouta, is invited to Kuroko's house to play...

IMPORTANT: NO Fem!Kagami. Everyone is a (*gay) male here.

*Gay does not mean happy in this case.

A/Ns are in bold. Italics are the characters' thoughts. But for some sections, I use italics for flashback. Don't worry, I'll put the sign 'Flashback' up there so you'll know what you're reading.

It was exactly 1 year ago that I first met Kuroko.

Flashback(1 year ago)

It was a rainy late afternoon, and Kagami was at home, cooking late lunch. Aomine had ditched their date for the umpteenth time because he had to be on "24-hour ready" mode, since he's a policeman. Kagami cursed Aomine silently in his mind. Why does he have to choose this job?!

Just then, the doorbell rang.

"Strange, I'm not expecting anyone.." Kagami muttered to himself. He opened the door. Due to his height (190cm+), he couldn't see anyone. Must be a prank, he thought. Just as he was about to close the door, he felt a strange grip on his legs. He looked down. There was light blue hair down there. A kid? He asked himself. That kid was completely drenched in water, with water droplets sliding off his hair.

"Ano.. can I come in?" He asked, showing his puppy eyes. Tears seemed to roll down his eyes.

THAT was Kagami's weakness. Puppy eyes. "U-Uh... I guess you could..." He blushed a little, letting him go in.

Kagami was shocked to see that kid. But he helped him to clean up, anyway. That kid changed into a fresh new set of clothes. It was currently evening.

"Arigatou... my name's Kuroko Tetsuya, nice to meet you," he smiled, introducing himself. "What about you, onii-san?"

"Kagami Taiga...." Kagami replied, not knowing what to do with him. "Look, I think your parents are worried about you.... Wanna go home?"

"I don't have any parents, Kagami-niisan. Will you adopt me?" Kuroko admitted.

What..? Kagami thought, freezing for a while. Adopt?

Kuroko kept on pressing Kagami to reply. He sighed. "Fine.."

"Yossha!" Kuroko jumped up in happiness. Suddenly, the door unlocked.

"Aomine!" Kagami growled. "YOU DITCHED OUR DATE AGAIN!"

"Warui, warui... you know my job," Aomine said jokingly. Although Kagami was about to explode. Then, Aomine spotted Kuroko. "Who's... that?" He picked him up and looked at him in the eyes. "He's kind of.... kawaii......"

"We adopted him a while ago," Kagami explained briefly. "His name's Kuroko Tetsuya."

Aomine put him down. " 'We'? What do you mean by 'we'? I won't have enough time to look after him."

"Onegai?" Kuroko pleaded, using his puppy eyes again.

Aomine hesitated a little, because this was his weakness too. ".................. O-Okay...."

"Yay!" Kuroko jumped up again. "What's your name, onii-san?"

"Aomine Daiki. Nice to meet ya."

"Kuroko Tetsuya desu. Nice to meet you, Aomine-niisan!"

End of Flashback

Kagami reminisced a little. It was early morning and Kuroko hasn't woke up yet. According to him, another kid called Kise Ryouta was coming over to play. Aomine was sleeping, too. He was up late doing his job. Just then, another flashback came knocking on the door...

Flashback - about 2 - 3 years ago

Kagami had just finished college. And now, it was time to look for a job. He went back home to rest.

The doorbell rang. He opened the door.

"A-AOMINE?!! THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?!!" Kagami shouted in shock.

There he was -- Aomine, standing at his front door. "Warui, I got kicked out of my apartment because I couldn't pay the rent."

"WHAT'S THAT GOT TO DO WITH ME?!!"

"That means, from now on I'll live in your house."

"WHAT ABOUT THE EXTRA WATER AND ELECTRICITY BILLS?!!"

"I'll pay 'em."

"ARGH! DO YOU NOT GET THE SITUATION HERE?! People will talk!"

"Who cares. Let me in." Aomine pushed Kagami away and walked in. He made himself comfortable.

"AOMINE...! YOU BASTARD!" Kagami cursed. "You can't just come in like that!"

"Well, I guess we'll have to get along from now on...." Aomine tossed a chocolate from Kagami's house into his mouth.

"Grrr," Kagami grunted in disapproval.

End of Flashback

Kagami clenched his fist at the thought of the first time Aomine barged into his house. "That Ahomine! Someday he'll pay for it!" And it was currently 7.30AM.

"Kagami-niisan?" A tired voice called out. Kuroko walked into the living room and saw Kagami. Kuroko yawned with his mouth so big a hand could fit inside it. "Kise-kun's coming at 10AM today. Where's breakfast?"

Right! Kagami smacked himself in the head. Then he saw Kuroko’s ridiculous yet funny bedhair. “What’s with your hair?!”

“Oh.. that.. I’ll fix it.”

Kagami facepalmed."Never mind, I'll prepare breakfast right now." He took out a loaf of bread and did the necessary for a toast.

Kuroko decided that he should wake up Aomine. He ran into his room and whispered into his ear, "There are some bees flying around in this room..." Aomine instantly propped himself up.

"WHAT?!! WHERE?!!" Aomine screamed, about to make a run for it. He's scared of bees.

"Just joking," Kuroko giggled a little. "Rise and shine, Aomine-niisan." He then proceeded to open up the curtains. The sun rays hit the room, blinding Aomine a little.

"Argh.. 5 more minutes..." Aomine yawned and fell back to his bed like a sack of potatoes.

Kuroko pouted. "Kise-kun's coming over today!"

"Ki- what?" Aomine opened one of his eyes, confused.

“Kise Ryouta-kun. You know, the friend I told you about. He’s coming over to play.”

“..... Right, I’ve totally forgotten about that.” Aomine had been so busy recently that he’s forgotten all about Kuroko’s stuff. “Warui ne, Tetsu. I’ll get up now.”

8 AM -- Everyone’s in the middle of eating their breakfast.

“Kuroko, anything interesting happen in your school?” Aomine asked, feeling a little guilty not to have talked to Kuroko a lot recently.

“Hmm,” Kuroko thought for a while. “I joined the school’s basketball team.”

B-Basketball?! Kagami and Aomine almost puked out their coffee.

“You... didn’t take my words seriously, did you?” Kagami asked nervously. A few weeks ago, Kagami was bored to death, so he showed Kuroko how to play basketball. And Kagami told Kuroko that if he won 1st place in his interschool competition, he’d get a special gift for Kuroko. Although, that was actually meant as a joke.

“Eh? I thought they were for real?” Kuroko tilted his head a little.

“Uh..” Kagami was unable to reply. “They were.. uh.. real! Yeah, I’ll get you something special...”

Kuroko heaved a sigh of relief. Meanwhile, Aomine was whispering to Kagami.

“Bakagami, what did you do?!” Aomine whispered.

“I just taught him basketball, and the words slipped out of my mouth!” Kagami whispered back.

“You’re really a baka!”

“Shut up, aho!”

10AM -- Arrival of Kise

“Ohayou gozaimasu, Kise-kun,” Kuroko greeted, opening the door for Kise.

“Ohayou, Kurokocchi!” Kise greeted, smiling happily. “Are we playing basketball today?” He went in, looking at Kuroko’s house. Then, they sat down to chat.

“I could ask Kagami-niisan and Aomine-niisan,” Kuroko suggested. “They’re really good at it.”

“Who are they?” Kise asked.

“Yo,” Kagami greeted. “So you’re that ‘Kise-kun’ that Kuroko’s been taking about.” Slightly taller than Kuroko, blonde hair.... “My name’s Kagami Taiga, nice to meet you.”

“I’m Aomine Daiki, nice to meet ya,” Aomine introduced.

“Kise Ryouta, nice to meet you too!”

“I forgot to tell you,” Kuroko suddenly remembered. “I was adopted by the both of them.”

“A-Adopted?” Kise was shocked. “Eh.. At least you’re better than me. I live with 2 elder sisters. And they bully me all the time. Not in a bad way, though.” He joked. “And... how do 2 males adopt a child?”

Kagami and Aomine froze. “W-Well, you see.... I kind of picked him up on the streets...” Kagami tried to explain. They certainly did not want a 7-year-old to think “weirdly” of them.

“Well, whatever,” Kise brushed it away. “What should we play now?”

“Hide-and-seek?” Kuroko suggested. A typical 7-year-old kid’s answer.

Kise facepalmed. “Kurokocchi, you have lack of presence, that game’s gonna be useless with you playing!”

“Then there’s only 1 option left -- basketball.”

The word ‘basketball’ caught Kagami and Aomine’s attention.

“Let’s go now! My hands are itching, ya know!” Kise jumped up and down.

“Woah, hold on right there,” Aomine stopped. “Do we even have the ball right now?” He couldn’t even remember where he put his basketball at.

“I have one,” Kagami said. “Let’s go.”

10.30AM -- At the basketball court

“Uhh, Kise, why do you add a ‘cchi’ behind Kuroko’s name?” Kagami asked.

“I’ll add it if I have respect for the person,” Kise replied.

“Right, whoever can win me on a one-on-one gets a free lunch treat from me,” Aomine spun the ball using his index finger.

“Who do you think you are?! A rich man?!” Kagami complained. “I’m ready to take you on!” He made a defensive stance in front of Aomine.

“Uh, that’s okay, but we can’t enter the Zone, ‘kay? It’s gonna be tiring.”

“I KNOW! I’m not like you, who can enter the Zone as freely as they wish!”

“Zone..?” Kuroko and Kise asked.

“It’s like... a player goes into 100% concentration in a game, something like that,” Aomine briefly explained.

Kuroko and Kise sat down nearby.

5 minutes later, Aomine said, “Done.”

“That was fast... what’s the result?” Kuroko asked.

“Easy win,” Aomine answered.

“OI!!! One more time! One more time!! I feel indignant losing to you!” Kagami shouted.

“Pffftt,” Kise giggled. “Isn’t it our turn now?”

“Hmm, tell us what are you twos’ skills,” Aomine said.

“I excel in passing... since I have lack of presence and all,” Kuroko said.

“I’m more of copying,” Kise said.

“Let’s see... a ghost and a copycat?” Kagami joked.

“Kagami-niisan. I think your jokes are a bit too far...” Kuroko said. Kise nodded his head.

“Warui,” Kagami apologised. “Let’s get playing now!”

“He’s an awful joker,” Aomine commented.

9PM -- Kise returns home

“Ja nee, Kurokocchi! See you again in school!“ Kise waved as he called out. Then he left.

“Bye, Kise-kun. Have a good night’s sleep,” Kuroko waved goodbye. Then, he went back home with Kagami and Aomine.

They prepared to sleep.

“Tetsu... Kagami.... haven’t slept with you 2 for a while...” Aomine said, yawning.

“Well.... I sometimes sleep with Kuroko..” Kagami said.

“I really want to sleep in between you 2,” Kuroko said.

The crickets disrupted the peaceful night. The full moon was shining, making the room bright with moonlight.

Kagami, Kuroko and Aomine snuggled together on a single bed, sleeping soundly.
