Love, Music and Otaku - Chapter 21 (LAST CHAPTER!!)

~CHAPTER 21~

“So, are you ready, ojou-sama?” Oreki asked, leaning against a wall with his arms folded at the backstage. Both Kii and Oreki were ready for their vocaloid performance in their Kagamine twins cosplay costumes.

“Stop calling me ojou-sama!!!!” Kii shouted, punching Oreki in the face, making him lose his balance and fall.

“But you act like one!”

“Urusai, urusai, urusaaai!!” Kii pouted.

“Ano...! The Kagamine twins, you’re up next!”

“Let’s get going,” Kii said, walking towards the stage with Oreki.

“Minna-san.. today our song is..” Kii announced, taking a deep breath. “Daughter of Evil and Servant of Evil.”

The audience were cheering for a while before they quieted down.

(Timeskip to their band performance) “Konnichiwa minna-san! We’re Houkago Kiseki!” Kii announced cheerfully.

“And we’re here to bring more anime song covers!” Oreki said.

“Houkago Kiseki... starrrttt!!”

“Arigatou minna-san!” Kii thanked, with everyone bowing. Then they left the stage.

The LMC packed up their things before going to the music room. They sat down around the table, feeling a little nostalgic.

“I don’t want the school year to end so soon...” Kii said.

“Me too..” Ichigo agreed.

“We can’t see you guys anymore,” Rai said.

“Eh.. well.. don’t be sad, I’m sure next year you’ll get another fantastic new members,” Oreki tried to console them.

“But seriously.... damn it.... these sad and sappy stuff are almost making me cry,” Satoshi said.

There was an awkward silence as everyone bit their lips to stop them from crying.

“Ah..! I almost forgot, Hime-senpai and Yuka-senpai is coming here for the last time to perform with us,” Kii remembered. She checked the time. “They should arrive here now..”

“Eh..?” Ichigo and Rai were surprised. Oreki and Satoshi also remembered something.

“Konnichiwa!” Kuroyukihime and Yuka greeted, opening the door.

“Senpaitachi!!” Everyone called out.

“This is our last performance,” Yuka said, smiling. “Ichigo-san, Rai-san, please enjoy it.”

Kii, Oreki, Satoshi, Kuroyukihime and Yuka got ready.

“The song is... Tenshi ni Fureta yo!(K-ON)”

When the song ended, Ichigo and Rai were on the verge of tears. The lyrics had full meaning to it and they were experiencing it right now.

“A-Arigatou...” Ichigo thanked, wiping the tears away.

“This.. was the best performance I’ve ever seen!” Rai complimented.

“Ano, Senpai,” Oreki asked Kuroyukihime and Yuka. “I have a party this Sunday at my house, do you want to come?”

“Hmm... I’ll go!” Kuroyukihime agreed. “With Yuka-chan!” She put her shoulders on Yuka, bringing her close to herself.

“A-ah! Hime-san!” Yuka blushed a little. “W-Well... I think I can come too...”

(Timeskip, while the whole LMC, including Kuroyukihime and Yuka is walking home together)

“Ah!!” Kii suddenly shouted, pointing to a candy store. “T-that... limited edition... lollipop..”

“KYAAAA!!! <3” Ichigo shouted. “SWEEEETSSSSSSS!! <3” Everyone sweatdropped.

“Kazuto-kun, you’re treating everyone a lollipop!” Kii immediately decided.

“EHH?!! WHY ME?!” Oreki shouted in shock.

“Because I say so!!” Kii shot back.

“Why don’t we play a game of jan-gen-pon?” Kuroyukihime asked. (Note: Jan-gen-pon means scissors-paper-stone.)

That’s so childish.... Everyone thought.

“E-Eh..?” Kuroyukihime said, surprised.

“Let’s see who has the lowest SAO Level then!” Yuka suggested.

“Ah!! That’s a good idea!” Rai agreed.

Everyone opened up their profiles to let each other see. But the lowest... Satoshi and Yuka had the same levels. There was a silence.

“Sigh, let’s go home instead,” Ichigo gave up. Everyone except for Kii agreed with her and proceeded to the direction of their houses.

Kii pouted. That leaves me no choice then! “I’ll catch up with you guys later~!” She went into the store.

(Timeskip: Later that night... Kii is in Oreki’s house.) “Eh... so you finally bought it with your brother’s hologram credit card...” Oreki sweatdropped.

“Ah, but it was worth it,” Kii gave a smirk. “You’ll never know the heavenly taste of that lollipop.”

“Hai, hai,” he sighed. At least I wasn’t the one who paid for that.

(Timeskip to Sunday)

Oreki’s POV

The doorbell rang 10 minutes earlier than the actual time the whole LMC decided to meet. Who was it? I shouted “Coming!” as I ran to the door, and opening it.

“K-Kii-chan?!” I was shocked. Why would she come 10 minutes early? She was wearing a scarf.... oh wait.. It’s a little cold outside...

“Let me in,” Kii said as she stepped into my house. But she missed her step and lost her balance.”Wha--” I pulled her scarf instinctively. But it made matters worse. Okay, I admit it’s the wrong decision. I never knew that by pulling her scarf would strangle her. I immediately let go after seeing Kii coughing and gasping for air a little. Luckily, she was able to balance herself well and stood up.

“KAZUTO-KUN!! YOU ALMOST KILLED ME!!” Kii shouted.

“OKAY I ADMIT IT’S MY FAULT!!” I shouted back, feeling a little guilty and apologetic. “You can come in now!!”

Kii still hasn’t calmed down yet, but when she came inside, she immediately went to the veranda of my house. Inko-chan was trying to practicing to say its name again, so it was kinda inappropriate.. I decided to follow her, and we were leaning against the railing, enjoying the soft breeze that was a little cold.

“Nee.. Kazuto-kun..” Kii asked. “Here’s your chocolate.”

I was a little shocked. I took the chocolate that she handed me. And that amount of money... wait.. it looks familiar.

“I haven’t returned you the money for the honey-coated lollipop that was sold in Teiko Middle School, remember?”

“Ah.. sou..”

“...”

I could sense Kii was waiting for something. Just then, I remembered something.

Flashback

“Ano...!! If this is what you want... I’ll have my answer ready by end of next week!!” I shouted to her.

Kii stopped for a moment before replying, “I see.” Then she continued walking.

End of Flashback

I knew what she wanted now. “Ano.. my answer is...”

Kii’s eyes lit up. “Eh.. I surprised you knew what I wanted...”

“My answer is...” I hesitated a little, but I lost the confidence. I tried again.

“It’s...”

“In-Inko-chan!!” Inko-chan squawked, ruining the moment.

“AHHH!! INKO-CHAN IS FINALLY ABLE TO SAY HIS OWN NAME!!” I shouted happily.

Kii was surprised too. “We have a new achievement unlocked!!!”

Both of them happily ran to the cage, feeding Inko-chan for rewarding him.

10 minutes had passed in a short time and the doorbell rang.

“Hai, coming!” I ran to the door and opened it. “Minna! Come in!”

Kuroyukihime and others noticed Kii. “Why is Kii-chan earlier than us...?”

We knew the answer and smiled at each other.

“Hai, hai, we get it,” Kuroyukihime understood.

“All’s well that ends well,” Satoshi said.

“I have a feeling this will be the best party ever,” Ichigo said.

“We’re all gonna have fun!” Rai cheered.

“I-I’m so glad Kii-san and Oreki-kun are a couple now,” Yuka said, blushing a little.

“Y-Yuka-senpai!! We’re not a couple!” Kii pouted and blushed.

Everyone laughed. “Now, let’s get this party started!"

Love, Music and Otaku - Chapter 3

~CHAPTER 3~

“Oh yes, we haven’t forgotten about SAO, have we?” Kuroyukihime asked.

“....” There was an awkward silence in the room.

“Uh.. I remember Misaka-senpai saying that we have floor boss battles once every week for the first years. We have to reach Floor 50 in order to rise up to second years, and to achieve that we have to form a party with other first years....” Kii said.

“And for the second years, we’ll have to reach Floor 100.... which is harder than the first years...” Yuka said. “The third years have to finish the whole Shingeki no Kyojin storyline.”

“Wow... I never knew that...” Oreki said.

“But what if you fail to meet these requirements?” Satoshi asked.

“You’ll continue staying on your year until you meet the requirements and rise up to the next year.”

“Eh....”

“Anyway, tomorrow’s the first years’ first floor battle, I’ve already trained and leveled up lots these 2 days,” Kii said. “How about you, Kazuto-kun and Satoshi-kun?”

“I have,” Oreki said.

Satoshi had cold sweats. He didn’t train himself at all, he just completed his teacher’s homeworks. “Uh... uh...”

“By the looks of it, I know you didn’t, Satoshi-kun,” Kii was getting angry. “How can you be a gamer when you’re so lazy to level up?!! Fuyukai desu!”

“I’m relying on the front lines!”

“Misaka-senpai said that you had to participate in at least 5 of the floor boss battles!”

“What?! You didn’t say that!”

“We’re gonna train you real hard! You’re not gonna sleep for 24 hours!! You’re gonna do grinding ferociously!!”

“F-fine...”

“Uh... senpai?” Oreki asked Kuroyukihime. “Could you please help with the composition and the lyrics of Kyoukai no Kanata? We’re gonna be busy with, you know, Satoshi.”

“Don’t worry, leave it to us!” Kuroyukihime said with a wink. “Our floor boss battle is the day after tomorrow.”

“Satoshi-kun, we’re going to Kazuto-kun’s house to have dinner first!” Kii decided.

“WHAT?!! My house again?!! Fukou da!” Oreki said.

“Can’t be helped, you’re good at cooking,” Kii said. “Oh yes, Hime-senpai, when will the club rooms be available for full diving?”

“Next week, so you guys can’t train here. But you can do it outside of the school,” Kuroyukihime explained.

“S-so I guess we can practice Kyoukai no Kanata now...” Yuka said.

Suddenly, the school bell rang and it was end of school.

“Wow... we wasted the whole time chatting,” Kii said.

“Me and Yuka-chan will do the composition of Kyoukai no Kanata with all the instruments, so don’t worry about us! It’s a piece of cake,” Kuroyukihime said with a wink.

“Well then... sorry for troubling you...” Satoshi said.

Kii, Oreki and Satoshi were walking home together and they reached Oreki’s house. Satoshi commented, “Wow, the apartment beside Oreki-kun feels like it’s blocking the sunlight from his house.”

Spot on! Oreki thought. “Uh, well, that house actually is--” He felt a sharp pain in his feet. “Owww!”

“That’s just his selfish neighbour,” Kii lied through her teeth.

Kii-chan! Why’d you do that for?! Oreki thought. Fukou da!

They entered Oreki’s house and had a heartful dinner.

Kii, Oreki and Satoshi partied up, and went full dive into SAO. “Link Start - SAO!”

Kii was Level 18, Oreki was the same level as her, but Satoshi was...

“What?! You’re Level 5 only?! Fuyukai desu! Looks like we need some serious grinding here!” Kii complained.

“.......” Satoshi felt guilty.

“Satoshi, you’re gonna die under the hands of Kii-chan. Brace yourself,” Oreki said, resting his right arm on Satoshi’s left shoulder.

“Alright, since you’re Level 5, this district has Level 5 - 10 monsters, you’re gonna grind there,” Kii said, pointing to the hologram map. “And Kazuto-kun will guard you if you purposely log out just to escape this hell.”

So Kii and Oreki waited for Satoshi to reach Level 10, then they proceeded to the district with Level 10 - 18 monsters. But suddenly, Kii and Satoshi fell asleep under a tree when it was 4 AM in real life time.

When they woke up, it was 6.30 AM.

“Wait, where’s Satoshi-kun?!” Kii asked, surprised.

“Maybe he logged out! We accidentally fell asleep, you know. I’m going to check the map to see if he’s there,” Oreki said. “Huh? He’s in the district there there’s Level 18 - 25 monsters...”

Kii and Oreki finally found Satoshi, still grinding.

Kii checked Satoshi’s profile. “W-wait.. he’s... Level 21!!”

“He grinded way too much!” Oreki facepalmed.

“Yo, Kii and Oreki-kun, it’s morning now..” Satoshi greeted.

“Satoshi-kun.. you..” Kii was speechless.

“I don’t know what so say,” Oreki said.

“We’d better log out now, if not we’re gonna be late for school,” Kii said.

The trio logged out and went to school. It was finally the day for their first floor boss battle.
